Digging The Rain

For years it’s been with me
A feeling that suddenly questions me
When I don’t know the answer

Pleasantly surrounding me
Nearly a decade since that wrecking ball
When somehow I felt the answer

I dig the rain and space
I drip sand into castles any chance I get
Maybe now, maybe then
I haven’t checked the weather yet
Right now I’m digging the rain

For years she’s danced near me
Her tapping subtly leads me to wonder
When I’ll ever know the answer

Pleasantly ignoring me
The captain’s caption leads her to wonder
When she’ll ever know the answer

Maybe I’m insane
Maybe we’re waiting on the same thing
Why not make make this sing?
Right now I’m digging the rain.
