Loose Leaf

Fingerprints, nails, smiling, steam
Pressing, one’s soaked through, they gleam
Wondering what this all means
A trail that winds down to comfort?

Beyond fogged glass leans a dream
Gazing, a black and white theme
Fantasy drips into streams
A river bending to peaceful

An anchor, or a golden J
A silver stud blends in with haze
Slicked back hair, a look away
A smile for a broken day
It’s been ten years, you’ve flown around
Slow your speed and share your sound
on solid, stable, spinning ground

Waterbeads, eyes, smiling, string
All of the feelings that this brings
Distance is real and it stings
A shadow offering sweetness

Leave a bit of mystery please
Steeping, little loose leaf sings
“Finally, please be my thing…
I’ve fallen, but I’m finally stable”

White tiles frame what is clear
White tiles frame what’s not near
White tiles and black floor
Tasting shadows, wanting more
