I often wonder where you went
Was it the words? Or the silence sent?
The nearness with the distance blurred?
The laughter or the whispers heard?
I followed a comet from blue hills to the sand
Flew and fumbled and stumbled
and crashed into land
Crawled through puddles of nothingness
Swallowed my pride
Letters made words,
words made sentences, made letters, and goodbyes
Someone out there show me the difference between
”So long” and “good night”
I know when I’m right
Left here, I’ll fight
I often wonder where I’d be
if I’d ever gotten the best of me
On the mountain or in the sea?
or disappearing suddenly
