Between The Lines (2/2016)

Between The Lines

Don’t know how to say this
so it’s stuck between the lines
spilled on a page
words are easier when they’re written down

When everything’s perfect I will throw it away
to search for different and bet on better days
I’ve had enough sunshine, I’ll go out digging for rain
And he said maybe sometimes we all just need a little pain

Run it into the ground, when it all seems too easy
Then i’ll rise up again and you’ll never believe me

and when it all comes undone
I’ll close my eyes, to hear what he’s singing
I’ll go back to the ball
for a while to unwind
and take note of the moment when I come across my mind

all the brainwash and stories and I really don’t care
I’m a little too smart and a little too scared
They say it’s the only constant, so this may sound a little strange
my biggest fear in life is that things will never change

I’ll blow it all up and I’ll sink my own ship
Man, I know there’s more to life than living like this

and when it all comes undone
I’ll close my eyes, to hear what he’s singing
I’ll go back to the ball
for a while to unwind
and take note of the moment when I come across my mind

just a little more, i won’t care what i’m paying
won’t care what you said, did you think i was staying?
a yearning in my heart and a fire in my eyes
does that side of this mountain have blue or grey skies?

One of these days when I abandon this ship
I’ll look back and forget that I had nights like this
