Believe The Sea

“Few years lost at sea,
crashing, foam, and I found me.

Look my way just after I wave.

Thought a mermaid might walk on land,
but when I reached out, she flew past my hand.
Up in the sky a fin waved goodbye.

I must admit, I was either early or late again.
So I went for a swim.”

Watched a captain walk the left coast.
“Finally saw a sail and swore it was a ghost.”
Down by the shore, two eyes asked for more.

“More one more time.
Few years lost at sea,
crashing, foam, and I found me.

Look my way just after I wave.”

He stopped, we sat and talked about it.

“Do you still believe the sea?
Crashing, foam, and I found me.”
