Going Nowhere

I closed my eyes so I’d be blind
to what’s not wanted.

I looked up to see above
the pile I’d created.

Wonder what happened, I’ll put it on me.
Happened? What’s happening?
That would light up and answer,
stumble with me in the dark.
From rooftops, fireworks and stars.

Pushing forward, certain I’ve got this all wrong.
That one can do everything.
So I will put this one on me.

I tuned my ears so not to hear
the thoughts that I was thinking.

I reach out, half full of doubt
and love that’s going nowhere.
